Lis is an artist and illustrator whose art celebrates human connections, nature, and the stories that shape our lives. Her work appears on a range of products from puzzles to paper goods to album covers, and she’s slowly working on her first children’s book. She also serves as a reserve officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. On her inspiration as an artist:

“Becoming a mother inspired me to revisit my passion for drawing after 14 years in the Coast Guard. Watching a child grow makes you realize how quickly time passes. Today, my illustrations are largely inspired by simple living, the changing seasons, motherhood…. I hope my illustrations inspire viewers to slow down and take notice of the ‘little daily miracles,’ as Virginia Woolf calls them, like lighting a candle for dinner or feeling the weight of a sleeping child on your chest.”

In her free time, Lis loves long rambling nature walks, sampling new coffee shops, and dreaming of her next visit to the English countryside. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. As a military spouse, she’ll be relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin this summer and is very excited to explore a whole new region of the country with her family.
